When you have kids and a pet it’s difficult to keep floors clean. When you have wood and tile floors it’s difficult to hide them not being clean..lol. Our dog is a yorkie-poo and doesn’t really shed however he likes to bring dirt in from anywhere he can find it outside. The kids, well… you know how that goes J. Needless to say, there’s a lot of vacuuming that goes on at my house and it always feels like I turn around and need to do it again. On Amazon Prime day we finally gave in and purchased a iRobot Roomba 652 .
I was under the impression that the Roomba only covered a very small area and had for a short period of time. I can now tell you, that is incorrect. This thing goes everywhere. It reaches places that are impossible for me to reach- under the couch, under side tables, it is incredible. The first day we had to empty it a few times but each day after has been less. You can program it to run at a certain time every day or start it on a whim. The kids have taken a liking to the Roomba so we have to keep an eye on them playing with it. Thankfully they haven’t attempted riding on it (to my knowledge anyway).

Last night Little Miss B had taken a bath in my bathroom and so I sent her back in there to make sure the towel was picked up since ‘The Cleaner’ (that’s what we named our Roomba..lol) was in that area. She comes back and says “It was in your closet so I turned the light on for it to see.”
My only wish…
The only thing is I wish there was a “call” button on the docking station. The first day we got the Roomba my husband was home first and started it before going outside. I came home and saw the paperwork on the counter and asked where the Roomba was. He looks around and say “Um, I don’t know. I went outside.” We looked under furniture and down the hall thinking it couldn’t have gone too far. I decided to go change in our closet and tada! there it was. It had gotten stuck on a drawstring bag that had fallen on the floor and stopped. All was ok though, and now we make sure we have any cords and bags picked up off the floor.
It is amazing and an incredible time saver! It makes me wish we had purchased it a long time ago!
